The Dominix is one of the best all-round ship for agent missions, imho. It might not be the fastest killer, but as many have discovered, it tanks very well. Even though the apoc has a cap bonus, the domi has an extra med-slot to help out. And drones don't use cap. And the best part is that you can switch damage (beats the apoc) and size of the drones (beats the raven).
A dual repairer domi can tank a lot in Angel Extra. People might shield tank it instead for that mission, but it works. For dual repairers, I reccomend brining a couple of heavy nosses so you can last a bit longer. A single repairer will last forever though.
My general setup:
High: Heavy named beams/Named 720mm's, heavy nos', tractor beams Med: 4x named cap rechargers, afterburner Low: 1-2x t2 or better armor repairer (I usually carry two in heavy ds missions, just in case I screw up.), 2x hardeners for the two main damage types and 1x energized nano membrane II, 2x cpr, and in easy missions 1-2x dmg mods to speed up things a bit.
Dronebay: 5-6x t2 heavies rat-spesific, 5x t2 medium rat spesific, 5x t2 hobgoblins for frigs/inties.
As you can see, I carry no webber, as there's no need. The lights take care of any inties that swarm me, but in this domi, they ain't my main concern.
I use Praetor II for sansha, blood raiders and the bs sized rogue drones Infiltrator II for rogue drones. (They are great for this task.) Wasp II for caldari, guristas and serpentis Ogre II for named rat in Serpentis Vengeance, Mercenaries and building destruction Berserker II for Angels
A note though, this isn't especially cheap if you ain't used to controlling drones. But the good news is that the t1 version of the drones is enough to break the thoughest tanks around there if you have decent drone- and gallente bs skill.
There are a few common mistakes/situations that makes the Domi suck:
- bringing the wrong drones for the mission - release drones in missions where they catch aggro easily (Angel extra) - release drones without getting aggro from everything first - release drones 80km from the rats and trying to keep a distance (drones will die!) - believe that high slots is allways the main weapon - Jumping into missions without doing some research first - Having a bad internet connection (drone scooping 4tl!)
Someone mentioned drone link augmentation. Theese are good modules, but I've found out that the high slots can be used for more useful modules (more damage, more cap, more scooping power). I think the only situation that would be needed is vs guristas as they usually try to stay at extreme distances. The other negative part is that the rats are more likely to switch target to drones if the distance to you is over 50km.
